About Freedom Is
In the summer of 2020, Chapter 510 & the Dept. of Make Believe paired nine elementary school students with nine Oakland musicians.
Led by teaching artist Tiffany Golden, the students in Song & Story Camp wrote original songs that were composed and recorded by their professional musicians. The young songwriters bemoan the global pandemic, dream of a peaceful planet, and celebrate their strongest selves.
Hope reigns supreme.
