CHAPTER 510’S NEW LOOK brought to you by…..

Our new look and feel is inspired by our youth writers, our community of radical artists, and Oakland’s roots in social justice.

We are thrilled to introduce you to our sharp new logo, joyful palette of colors and shapes, and our reimagined and redesigned website!

Thank you to the brilliant marketing and brand strategists and board members Patti Birbiglia, Toni Dawkins, and Lauren Kerr, and the ever-talented designers Leigh Okies and Tay Bird from the IDW Studio for our beautiful new brand.

These talented folx spent years inside our writing organization, interviewing students, families, educators, and artists, and delivered a new logo and look that is as brave, bold, vibrant, and powerful as our young authors.

All the choices made from typeface to color were done with such care and intention, and we are so excited to finally share it with the world.

We also want to send a beam of gratitude to website designers Chynna Monforte and Jessy V. Castillo of Monforte Studio, and our very own Creative Director Perla Yasmeen Meléndez for bringing our brand to (digital) life. And finally to Bay Area artist Simon Tran whose mural in our Westlake Writers’ Room was a huge influence on our color and shape palette.

So much heart and love went into this from all, and we feel it!

Hope you do too.
