New Dawn Rising Book Release
at Old Oakland Block Party
Saturday April 16, 12pm–6pm
Come celebrate the release of our latest youth publication New Dawn Rising: Sci-Fi Screenplays by Oakland Youth. We will host a young author book signing at our Dept. of Make / Believe storefront. Be the first one to get this amazing new book hot off the press, meet the young 7th and 8th grade authors, and take part in this year’s Write Your Roots all-Town collaborative poem.
Plus, enjoy the Annual Old Oakland Youth + Creativity block party which will feature a variety of Oakland youth showcases, hands on family friendly activities, live music, food, and an outdoor marketplace. This is an annual youth + family block party organized by Civic Design Studio, E14 Gallery and Good Good Eatz.
The New Dawn Rising young authors will be signing from 1pm–3pm, however their books will be available during the entire block party festivities from 12pm–6pm.

ABOUT NEW DAWN RISING
The year is 2050, thirty years after ten young screenwriters penned their visions for the new dawn. Have their visions of meteor blasts, artificial intelligence, and new species come to fruition?
