Chapter 510 celebrates the release of Moody Mysteries anthology

On Saturday November 16, Chapter 510 celebrated the release of Moody Mysteries, an anthology of fiction from 4th and 5th graders from Oakland.

In this thrilling and heartfelt anthology of mysteries, ten Oakland youth authors breathe life into a delightful array of sleuths, sidekicks, and supervillains. At every turn, each of these fiercely imaginative stories will have the reader on the edge of their seat. Museum robberies, haunted cabins, and so much more await in this carefully crafted collection of stories. 

At the book release, the room was packed with proud families and community members eager to celebrate the youth and their stories. Each newly published author took the stage to read an excerpt from their story, joined by their mentor and illustrator. Following the reading, youth signed copies of their books for friends and family. Families also got to experience our newly activated Pneumatic Poetry Prescription Service!

Many of these students have returned to Chapter 510’s programs for the spring 2025 edition of Make Believe Magazine. Stay tuned for more work from these incredible young authors!
