Start 2025 off right by getting a poetry prescription for ailments of all kinds! Chapter 510’s magical storefront, The Dept. of Make / Believe, has officially launched its Pneumatic Poetry Prescription Service. Featuring 50 youth-penned poems from the past 10 years of our free writing programs, these prescriptions promise potent and inspiring cures for whatever feelings you may be having.
Here’s how it works: Stop by during store hours, fill out a prescription form, send it through our pneumatic tube, and let the Poetry Doctor do their magic!
Poetry prescriptions start at just $10. And like all items in our store, every dollar you spend supports Chapter 510, Oakland’s youth writing, bookmaking, and publishing center that prioritized to Black, brown, and queer East Bay youth.
